Winter weather is finally here, and I am ready for it! During the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale at J. Crew, I stocked up on winter staples. Everything was 40% off. How could I not!?
Last weekend, I escaped the city with my friends, and we headed to the Berkshires. I was so excited to wear my latest winter staples purchases since it’s much colder there. My friends and I arrived Friday evening, and I woke up early Saturday morning to crisp air and a sparkling layer of frost covering the ground. I layered up and left the house for a peaceful stroll and found the coziest coffee shop. I sipped on coffee, chatted with the friendliest locals, and watched as the fireplace crackled. I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to start the morning.
When I met up with my friends afterwards, we walked around the town, popping into each of the shops. They were all mom-and-pop stores, and they had the cutest window displays. My favorite was a toy store’s which had three stuffed animals bundled up in hats and scarves as they ice skated. I mean, does it get cuter than that!?
I had bought this J. Crew parka a couple of years ago, and fortunately they included it in their collection this season. I opted for the gray, but they also offer the parka in other fun and vibrant colors. I resisted, but I almost bought it in the bright butternut. I probably should have just purchased it anyways because I’m regretting my decision not to now!
As I was unpacking my winter wardrobe from storage, I realized that I didn’t have true winter weather boots. I love my Uggs, but they weren’t going to cut it for the Berkshires or our Iceland trip later this month. I saw these boots online, and I loved how practical and versatile they are. When I found this hat and scarf in the same color, I thought they would go perfectly with my new boots. I wore them all around the Berkshires, and the boots were surprisingly really warm. They come with yellow laces as well, which I’ll have to try later in the season. I know I’ll get a lot of use out of them this winter!
Overall, it was a relaxing yet fun girls’ weekend, and I can’t wait for the next one!
A huge thank you to my wonderful friend Elianna for capturing these photos!
