Hi guys! It’s been a while, and I apologize for that! The past month I have felt like a total jet setter. Fun, but exhausting!
In between weekdays in the city and day trips home to CT, we also did quick trips to Sarasota and Milwaukee. While it was my first time in Milwaukee, Sarasota on the other hand is a city I’m quite familiar with. Growing up, we would take family vacations there to visit the grandparents and escape the harsh northeast winters. Since we were only there for a weekend, I missed out on some of my favorites, like mini golf, but we were still able to cram in some time at St. Armand’s Circle and Lido Key Beach.
Considering how hot it had in been in NYC, I couldn’t even begin to imagine what the weather was going to be like in Florida. I knew I needed to pack something airy and low maintenance. When I spotted this striped cotton dress at J. Crew I knew it’d be perfect. To add some color, I purchased this fun red scarf (only $12!). The whole outfit was quick and easy, just what I was looking for.
We did a low key Saturday in St. Petersburg and spent the evening in Sarasota. We had dinner at Tommy Bahama’s in St. Armand’s – I can’t resist their bread and cinammon butter! And, obviously we had to check out Kilwin’s afterwards for ice cream. Had we not been so tired, we would have grabbed drinks at the Daquiri Deck or the Surf Shop across the street.
One of my favorite things while on vacation is to go boutique shopping. I love finding unique pieces that I wouldn’t necessarily find back in NYC. I found this summery romper earlier in the day at Binjara Traders, one of my favorite boutiques in St. Armand’s. I can’t say I’m normally a romper fan, but the pattern sold me. The lively colors and the tassels were too beautiful for me to pass up, and I knew it’d be perfect to throw on over a swimsuit. Sunday morning we headed to Lido Key and practically had the whole beach to ourselves!
While this particular romper isn’t available online (or at least that I know of), I’ve linked a few other rompers that I’ve been crushing on below.
What pieces are you gravitating towards this summer? XO-
