It seems that every time I have a wedding to go to I’m scrambling for a dress. The dresses I come across in the stores are either too short or too revealing or just a little too over the top. I always end up running from store to store and settling on a mediocre dress that I never wear again. I’m not the only one, right?
In typical fashion, when I wasn’t looking for a cocktail dress, I found the perfect one. This ruffled one shoulder dress is form fitting and hugs you in all of the right places. While I don’t have any formal occasions this winter (and I’m not complaining about that!), I know I’ll get a lot of use out of this dress in the future. For a timeless piece like this, I knew it was well worth the investment.
If you’re not a big purple fan, the ruffled one shoulder dress also comes in black. I opted for the plum color because I already own quite a few black dresses. Plus, a couple of my friends are so adamant that I wear purple more often. So, I hope this post makes them happy!
When dressing up in the winter, I typically wear a (faux) fur coat or a long wool coat like this one. My preference is to wear a faux fur because I love adding an element of print and/or texture to my outfits. A fur coat has this elegance about it that also makes it suitable to wear indoors in case the event space is colder. In the winter, sometimes a pashmina just isn’t warm enough!
Are there any cocktail dresses that caught your eye this season? If so, I’m always on the market for one so please do share!
