Is it just me or is this winter so much colder than last? Last week, I avoided the outdoors at all costs, except when I took 15 minutes to snap these photos with Allie. Despite the cold, I was actually excited to do a quick shoot because I wanted to wear my new leopard print coat. As I was looking in my front hall closet a few days prior, I saw a pattern among my outerwear. It was a sea of gray and black. Naturally, I made it my mission to find a more funky coat. There’s no shortage of patterned coats this season, and I ended up purchasing this leopard print coat and a couple other more colorful coats.
While leopard can sometimes be a little – um, how do I put this – not classy, I thought this particular leopard print coat hit the mark. It’s fun and adds visual interest to any outfit, but it’s not making too much of a statement. I almost consider it a neutral. In fact, it’s a great staple if you love pattern play. I recently bought this fisherman striped sweater, and they pair quite nicely together!
The boots are a recent purchase, as well. They were a holiday present to myself. Believe it or not, I hadn’t owned over-the-knee boots up until this pair. I had purchased this Tory Burch pair and a less expensive look alike from Steve Madden. Truth be told, they basically looked the same, but the details on the Tory Burch pair sold me. Plus, I’m convinced that the fact I knew they were more expensive made me want them more. Regardless, I’ve been wearing them non-stop, so it was a good purchase.
I’ve really surprised myself because I have been loving the over-the-knee boot trend and truly didn’t think I would! Now that my Tory Burch boots are on sale, I’ve been contemplating purchasing them in the olive color. But, I’ll resist because we have way too many shoes in our apartment!
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
